Industrial Shrimp Action Network

The Industrial Shrimp Action Network (ISA Net) is a global network of non-governmental organizations which formed in 1997 to specifically address the serious issues raised by industrial shrimp aquaculture.

The great earnings of shrimp culture are short-lived, while the real costs in terms of consequent environmental ruin and social disruption are long-term and astronomical.

ISA Net is working towards more strict regulation and needed reform of the shrimp industry, while supporting coastal resource conservation measures and local community land use rights.

Further details can be obtained from Isabel de la Torre, ISA Net, 25415 70th Avenue, East Graham, WA 98338, USA. Fax: 1-253-8475977. Email: isatorre@seanet.com.
