The Tiempo Climate Cyberlibrary was developed by Mick Kelly and Sarah Granich on behalf of the Stockholm Environment Institute and the International Institute for Environment and Development, with sponsorship from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.

Asian Disaster Preparedness Center
The Center is located at the Asian Institute of Technology in Bangkok, Thailand. It is the headquarters for the regional El Niño Secretariat. Activities include establishing regional and national information clearing houses, identifying action plans for regional cooperation, organizing workshops, climatological forecasts for the Asia and Pacific regions, and identifying coping strategies for El Niño-related emergencies.

Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies
The Bangladesh Centre for Advanced Studies, based in Dhaka, is an independent non-government research organization working on three themes: integrating environment and development, governance and people's participation, and rapid economic growth. It has an active climate change programme.

Canadian Institute for Climate Studies
The Canadian Institute for Climate Studies is a not-for-profit corporation created to further understanding of the climate system, its variability and potential for change and the application of that understanding to decision making in both the public and private sectors.

Carbon Capture and Sequestration Technologies
The Carbon Capture and Sequestration Technologies Program at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology conducts research into technologies to capture, utilize, and store carbon dioxide from large stationary sources.

Center for Environment Research Education and Development
The Center for Environment Research Education and Development is a non-governmental organization based in Hanoi, Vietnam, undertaking research and information provision on global environmental issues including climate change.

Center for International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN)
CIESIN, based at Columbia University (New York, United States), is a non-profit, non-governmental organization dedicated to providing information that would help scientists, decision-makers and the public better understand their changing world. It is the World Data Center A for Human Interactions in the Environment and provides direct access to a large number of data sets, including the data contents of the World Resources series of reports, as well as links to other data sources.

Center for Ocean Solutions
Stanford University, the Monterey Bay Aquarium and the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute have joined forces to create the Center for Ocean Solutions, with a mission to develop new knowledge to solve ocean challenges and to reach out to decision-makers to translate the results of marine science and policy research into action. It has launched the Pacific Oceans Initiative to promote the sustainable management of the Pacific basin.

Center for Sustainable Development
CSDi provides proof-tested solutions to challenges faced by development professionals: donors, executive directors, project designers, grant writers, project managers, field staff and project beneficiaries. Online learning courses include community-based adaptation.

Centre for Science and Environment
The Centre for Science and Environment covers a range of environmental issues including climate change and is involved in both research work and lobbying for change. Its fortnightly newsletter, Down to Earth, is highly recommended.

Clean Air - Cool Planet
The mission of Clean Air - Cool Planet is to work with partners in business, education and the community in solving the global warming problem, developing economically efficient and innovative climate policies and mobilizing civic engagement to implement practical climate solution. The regional focus of the organization is the northeast United States.

Climate Institute
The Climate Institute aims to "protect the balance between climate and life on earth." The institute organizes conferences and research projects and the site "Climate.org" publishes news, reports and briefing materials.

Climate Justice
Climate justice provide support for the enforcement of existing laws that can help combat the causes and impacts of climate change for the benefit of present and future generations and hold the perpetrators accountable and liable for the consequences of their actions.

Co-operative Programme on Water and Climate
The international Co-operative Programme on Water and Climate aims to improve the capacity in water resources management to cope with the impacts of increasing variability of the world's climate. It addresses the gap between the climate and water sectors, encouraging co-operation through awareness raising and support for professionals.

Development Gateway
The Development Gateway is a portal on economic development, offering project information, articles, community features and many other resources at the global and, through Country Gateways, at the national level. The Development Gateway Foundation helps improve people's lives in developing countries by building partnerships and information systems that provide access to knowledge for development.

Earth Charter Foundation
The Earth Charter Foundation's primary objective is to encourage all people - individuals, groups, organizations, small and big businesses and governments - to support and implement the principles of the Earth Charter as a framework of action for the wellbeing of humanity and all other species dependent on the Earth's environment for survival.

Earth Policy Institute
The Earth Policy Institute is dedicated to providing a vision of what an environmentally sustainable economy looks like, as well as a roadmap of how to get from here to there.

Eco Conscious Developments
Eco Conscious Developments (ECODEV) seeks to propagate sustainable use of natural resources, build a sustainable culture based on practical ecologically-responsible resource use and implementing ecosystem-based conservation projects that provides for ecologically conscious community development. ECODEV is based in Ikom and Calabar, Nigeria, with contact offices in Germany and Canada.

Emissions Marketing Association
The mission of the Emissions Marketing Association is to promote market-based trading solutions for environmental management and to serve its membership.

Environmental Protection Agency
The United States Environmental Protection Agency site provides material of interest to concerned citizens, students, scientists and policy analysts on a range of environmental topics. Information specific to global warming including current and projected impacts, the science of global warming and policies and programmes is available.

European Wind Energy Association
The European Wind Energy Association is the voice of the wind industry, actively promoting the utilization of wind power in Europe and worldwide.

Flood Hazard Research Centre
The Flood Hazard Research Centre, based at Middlesex University in the United Kingdom, specializes in the interaction between people and the environment, together with analysis and appraisal of environmental policies, focusing on water management.

FogQuest
FogQuest is a non-profit, registered charity dedicated to planning and implementing water projects for rural communities in developing countries. Innovative fog collectors as well as effective rainfall collectors are used to make optimum use of natural atmospheric sources of water.

German Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety
The German environment ministry's site contains up-to-date information on Germany's environment, trends and issues.

Global Commons Institute
The Global Commons Institute advocates a policy of contraction and convergence, limiting growth in overall emissions and setting a worldwide per capita emissions allowance.

Himalayan Light Foundation
The Himalayan Light Foundation (HLF) is a non-profit, non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Nepal. HLF's main objective is to improve the quality of the life of the remote population of the Himalayan region via the introduction and use of environmentally-friendly energy technologies.

International Arid Lands Consortium
The International Arid Lands Consortium (IALC) is an independent nonprofit organization dedicated to exploring the problems and solutions unique to arid and semiarid regions. IALC promotes cooperative research and practical application of new knowledge to develop sustainable ecological practices.

International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development

International Polar Foundation

International Scientific Council for Island Development
The International Scientific Council for Island Development (INSULA) was formally created in 1989 as a non-governmental organization whose aim is to contribute to shape island awareness and develop islands' common future, supporting necessary cooperation and information actions in the scientific and technological fields. INSULA publishes the magazine INSULA, the International Journal of Island Affairs and manages a forum of debates and exchanges

IRC International Water and Sanitation Centre

The mission of the NOAA Coastal Services Center, based in Charleston, South Carolina, United States, is to foster and sustain the environmental and economic well being of the nation's coast by linking people, information and technology

One Sky
The mission of One Sky, the Canadian Institute of Sustainable Living, is to promote sustainable living globally. It works on projects to promote human rights and sustainable economics and to conserve and protect the environment. One Sky furthers appropriate technology systems and is focusing on renewable energy at the local, national and international levels.

Pacific Centre for Environment and Sustainable Development
Located at the University of the South Pacific in Fiji. Acts as a focal point for integrated regional and global studies of environment and development issues affecting small island states. Covers teaching, research and consultancy.

Plant-a-Tree-Today
The PATT foundation aims at providing economic, social and environmental sustainability through community based forestry projects in developing countries. Resources for the Future
Resources for the Future engages with energy and climate policy on numerous fronts. Issues studied include how to cost-effectively constrain emissions and limit cost uncertainties, promoting developing country engagement, reducing emissions through averted deforestation and afforestation and adaptation.
