About the Cyberlibrary

The Tiempo Climate Cyberlibrary was developed by Mick Kelly and Sarah Granich on behalf of the Stockholm Environment Institute and the International Institute for Environment and Development, with sponsorship from the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency.

Adaptation Learning Mechanism
The Adaptation Learning Mechanism is mapping good practices, providing information, building knowledge and networks on climate change adaptation. It is developing tools and resources to support: adaptation practices; integration of climate change risks and adaptation into development policy, planning and operations; and capacity building.

AdaptNet
AdaptNet is a community of adaptation specialists, sharing the latest information on adaptation strategies, measures, tools, research and analysis, and highlighting best practice and implementation. It focuses on cities in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region, but nested within the global network of cities.

African Forum and Network on Debt and Development

Arab Forum for Environment and Development
The Arab Forum for Environment and Development is a civil society initiative based on Beirut, Lebanon, intended to encourage Arab businessmen and economic institutions to collaborate in the direction of opening an Arab common market for products which are friendly to the environment as well as in the direction of harmonizing environmental measures.

Architecture for Humanity

Asia Pacific Human Development Network
The Asia Pacific Human Development Network (AP-HDNet) is an e-platform where members exchange knowledge, raise and debate issues on human development in the region. The Network is an integral part of the process leading to the preparation of the Asia Pacific Human Development Reports.

Asia Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN)
APN's primary purposes are to foster global environmental change research in the Asia-Pacific region, to increase developing country participation in that research and to strengthen science-policy links.

Asia-Pacific Mountain Network
The Asia-Pacific Mountain Network (APMN) is a regional node of the Mountain Forum. It was created with the purpose of generating, packaging, disseminating or sharing information on sustainable mountain development in upland and mountainous areas of the Asia-Pacific region as well as facilitating networking among its many members - online as well as offline - as well as subscribers and partners.

Asia-Pacific Partnership on Clean Development and Climate
Founding partners of the Asia-Pacific Partnership, Australia, China, India, Japan, Republic of Korea, and the United States, have agreed to work together and with private sector partners to meet goals for energy security, national air pollution reduction, and climate change in ways that promote sustainable economic growth and poverty reduction.

Biodiversity Conservation Network
The Biodiversity Conservation Network, a component of the Biodiversity Support Program, is a USAID-funded programme working in the Asia/Pacific Region to provide grants for community-based enterprises that directly depend on biodiversity.

Canadian Climate Change Scenarios Network
The Canadian Climate Change Scenarios Network consists of separate nodes, representing different regions of Canada and with their own research specialty. Each node is hosted in partnership with our university collaborators and the Adaptation and Impacts Research Section of Environment Canada.

Capacity Strengthening of Least Developed Countries for Adaptation to Climate Change (CLACC)
The CLACC network is a group of fellows and international experts working on adaptation to climate change for least developed countries. The aim is to strengthen the capacity of organizations in poor countries and support their initiatives in sustainable development through the network of fellows. CLACC operates in 15 countries in the South, 12 in Africa and three in South Asia.

CARBOAFRICA
The aim of the CARBOAFRICA network is to improve the quantification, understanding and prediction of the carbon cycle, and other greenhouse gas budgets, in Sub-Saharan Africa.

The aim of the Forest, Trees and People Network is to share information about improving community forestry activities. Future International Action on Climate Change Network

Indochina Global Change Network

OneWorld Network
The OneWorld network spans five continents and produces news and information content in 11 different languages, published across its international website, regional editions, and thematic channels. Many of these are produced from the South to widen the participation of the world's poorest and most marginalised peoples in the global debate. Recent news stories on climate change from organizations promoting human rights awareness and fighting poverty are listed.

PREDAC: European Actions for Renewable Energies
Coordinated by the Comite de Liaison Energies Renouvelables the PREDAC consortium is made up of 23 organizations from 10 European countries. Communication tools include work packages, training, employment, workshops and methodological guides.

ProVention Consortium
The ProVention Consortium is a global partnership dedicated to disaster reduction. Site contains information about ProVention activities and links to useful resources for disaster risk reduction.

Rainforest Action Network
The Rainforest Action Network is a coalition of organizations in North and South dedicated to protecting the world's forests and their inhabitants. Sites includes resources for teachers and students.

RANET
RANET is an international collaboration to make weather, climate and related information more accessible to remote and resource poor populations.

REN21
REN21 is a global policy network that provides a forum for international leadership on renewable energy. Its goal is to bolster policy development for the rapid expansion of renewable energies in developing and industrialised economies. It publishes the Renewables Global Status Report.

Science and Development Network
The aim of the Science and Development Network (SciDev.Net) is to enhance the provision of reliable and authoritative information on science- and technology-related issues that impact on the economic and social development of developing countries. The SciDev.Net website contains news, editorials, features and comment and the network also builds regional networks of individuals and institutions and organises capacity-building workshops and other events.

Share The World's Resources
Share The World's Resources is a non-politically affiliated network that campaigns for equitable distribution and sharing of the world's resources. Principles based on the 1980 Brandt Report resulting from the Independent Commission on International Development Issues.

Small Islands Voice
Small Islands Voice provides an interactive forum for people on small islands. The programme also provides resources, publications and multimedia tools and organizes workshops.

South Pacific Regional Environment Programme
The mission of the South Pacific Regional Environment Programme is “to promote cooperation in the South Pacific region and to provide assistance in order to protect and improve its environment and to ensure sustainable development for present and future generations.” There is a US mirror site.

Southeast Asian Deltas
A research and reference site with access to studies, research projects, resource people, and publications related to the four deltas of Southeast Asia. The Ayeyarwady in Myanmar, the Chao Phraya in Thailand and the Mekong and Red River Deltas in Vietnam.

Southern African Renewable Energy Information Network (SAREIN)
SAREIN is a joint initiative between Southern Africa and the European Union and is currently operational in six countries: Botswana, Lesotho, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland and Zimbabwe. Operates through providing information about technology, markets, financing and opportunities, raising awareness of the potential of renewable energy and establishing links between industry and the public sector, amongst other activities.

SouthSouthNorth
The SouthSouthNorth project recognises the vital need for finding viable economic solutions that are sustainable to meet the climate challenge and builds capacity among all stakeholders in the South for the success of one solution, the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) of the Kyoto Protocol.

SPARE
SPARE attracts youth energy efficiency activities and promotes sustainable energy. The idea is to transform a global concern into practical school activities.

Spirit in Business
Stated mission is to connect leaders in the global community with the intent to empower and enable them to maximize their being "great leaders, good leaders" for the benefit of the whole.

World Deltas Network
The World Deltas Network is a data, information, and research support service for deltas, to advance integrated science in the coastal zone, spanning physical, biological, and sociological disciplines.

World Mountain People Association
The World Mountain People Association builds on partnerships between mountain populations to share experience and develop cooperation on common issues.

Youth and Environment Europe (YEE)
The umbrella organization for over 40 regional and national youth organizations. Common interest is protection and care of the environment. Study and work on projects in foreign countries exchanging ideas and experience.

ZERI
Zero Emissions Research & Initiatives (ZERI) is a global network of creative minds seeking solutions to world challenges. The common vision shared by the members of the ZERI family is to view waste as resource and seek solutions using nature's design principles as inspiration. ZERI has identified 100 innovations that within a decade could generate 100 million jobs.

Zero Waste International Alliance
The Zero Waste International Alliance has been established to promote positive alternatives to landfill and incineration and to raise community awareness of the social and economic benefits to be gained when waste is regarded as a resource base upon which can be built both employment and business opportunity.
